The Hazelwood area was originally known as Annagh. Located only 4km from Parke’s Castle at Half Moon bay between Lough Gill and Garavogue River. The Hazelwood forest park sculpture trail incorporates a unique series of outdoor sculptures from Irish and International artists. This is a lovely flat forest walk suitable for all ages. Amenitis include a quiet picnic area, car park and beautiful lakeside views.

In his famous Poem, “The Song of Wandering Aengus” W.B.Yeats, observes the relaxing and therapeutic effect of the enchanted Hazelwood Forest. If you wish to unwind or just walk the dog, Hazelwood is definitely the place to visit. The nature trail forms a loop of about 3km with two shorter alternatives available. All are clearly marked and begin and end at the car park.
